Chris was elected to the WING board in 2023 and became Chair in 2025. 

He did a full circle tour with the family business – Reliance Group of Companies. He started out as an account manager in 1995. He then left in 1998 to learn from the best of the best on Fortune 1000 accounts for some of the largest insurance firms in the world; gaining extensive expertise in developing complex risk management and insurance programs in New York, and San Francisco. Chris returned to Reliance Insurance in 2005, where he has served as CEO. During this time he has served on various insurance and business industry boards while continuing to expand and grow his orginzation's Canadian operations nationally and develop new MGA verticals.

Emanuel Wessel joined the WING Board in November 2023 with responsibility within the organization for the treasury. He has been an active member of WING since 2014.

Emanuel began his professional career in 2003 with Allianz AG in Berlin, after completing his degree in Business Studies. In 2007, he moved to the Group Headquarters in Munich, working with the Allianz with the Allianz Business Area Growth Markets. He followed this up with several years’ overseas in the Group’s Asian business units where he gained experience of the challenges involved in organizing and managing international insurance business. In 2014 Emanuel Wessel joined GGW – Gossler, Gobert & Wolters, a group of privately owned brokerage companies, where he is now Managing Partner.

The GGW Group is an association of highly qualified, owner-managed insurance brokers. Its origins date back to 1758 and there are currently 1700 people working within the Group so that GGW is today one of the largest insurance brokers and managing general agents (MGA) in Germany.

Alaa Ladkani has been an active member of WING since 2014 and joined the Board in 2025. In his current role at WING, he oversees new member applications, helping expand its global footprint and supporting its mission to promote industry collaboration.

With over 15 years of experience in the Middle East and Africa’s insurance sector, Alaa brings wide-ranging insight and expertise in cross-border business and international insurance programs. He currently heads the International Networks Division at Chedid Insurance Brokers.

Alaa holds a master’s degree from the United States and is certified by the Institute of Risk Management (IRM) London. He also holds a diploma (Dip-CII) from the UK’s Chartered Insurance Institute, along with a degree in Insurance Engineering from the Bahrain Institute of Banking & Finance.

Fabrice de Waal has over 20 years of experience in the international risk and insurance industry. As a third-generation CEO, he has led DDW Group for the past 15 years, continuing the company’s legacy of excellence in risk management and client service. Fabrice is a Certified Risk Management Consultant and brings deep expertise in strategic risk advisory. 

Having previously served on the WING board, he is passionate about advancing professional standards within the industry and fostering collaboration across the global risk management community.

John Duncan is the CEO of JMD Ross and an award‑winning insurance professional known for his deep technical expertise, global market experience, and people‑centred leadership. With a career shaped by early hands‑on learning and a lifelong passion for insurance, he now leads a team of more than 25, fostering a culture built on mentorship, collaboration, and shared vision. His extensive knowledge spans all classes of insurance, regulatory frameworks, and international placement, strengthened by long‑standing relationships across global broking networks including Globex and WING. A former NSW/ACT NIBA Insurance Broker of the Year and an Australian Institute of Company Directors graduate, John has played a key role in growing JMD Ross into a thriving, internationally connected brokerage. Known for his curiosity, humour, and love of learning, he brings both strategic insight and a global perspective to his work and to the WING network.

Sam is the Secretariat and Event Manager for WING and is responsible for supporting the Board and organising the conferences.  Prior to WING Sam’s roles have included managing events, international conferences and exhibitions for Cisco Systems in EMEA.  Sam lives in the south of England with her family.
